March 2- 5, 2010 marked the seventh annual AmCham EU Brussels Briefing for European AmChams. For the first time this was coupled with the ECACC Best Practices session. The week-long event was attended by 48 members of the AmChams, representing 30 chambers in total.
Highlights included:
- Policy briefings on the EU 2020 Strategy and Lisbon Treaty
- An afternoon of European policy case studies
- An AmCham presidents' roundtable
- An exclusive networking cocktail in the European Parliament to launch the Transatlantic Economy 2010 report
- The AmCham EU Transatlantic Conference
The ECACC Fall Meeting 2009 took place from October 14-16. The conference was hosted and organised by AmCham Malta.
Highlighths of the program included:
- An exclusive lateral thinking session with Professor Edward de Bono
- A business lunch with Tonio Borg, Maltese Deputy Prime Minister
- Best practices sessions led by AmCham Denmark and AmCham France
- A dinner with Tonio Fenech, Maltese Finance Minister
- A reception hosted by the US Ambassador to Malta
The 2009 Transatlantic Conference in Washington DC took place from June 2-3, 2009. Highlights of the program included:
- An address by US Commerce Secretary Gary Locke
- A meeting with Senator Chuck Grassley
- A full briefing with the US Chamber on their priority issues
- A policy session with the European American Business Council (EABC)
- An evening reception at the Honeywell Corperation
From October 12-15,2008, ECACC held its annual fall conference in Istanbul in cooperation with the Turkish-American Business Association (TABA/AmCham) and the American Business Forum in Turkey (ABFT). At a series of trainings and best practice sessions, members discussed strategic plans for the future of both ECACC and individual AmChams
From April 6-9, 2008, ECACC members met for their annual conference in Washington, DC.
Highlights included:
- Political and Economic Issues Briefings with experts from the US Chamber of Commerce.
- A reception atop the Evening Star Building hosted by Citi
- An afternoon CSR session with the Business Civic Leadership Center
- A Roundtable Breakfast with the European American Business Council.
AmCham EU hosted its annual "Brussels Briefing" on March 3-4, 2008. The program included information sessions, break-out sessions on a variety of issues and optional training sessions. A highlight was the exclusive meet-and-greet cocktail in the European Parliament with key MEPs, AmCham EU members & staff on the evening of March 4th.
From September 23-25, 2007, ECACC members were welcomed to Warsaw by AmCham Poland for the annual Fall meeting. Participants exchanged expertise and experience in a number of Best Practice Sessions and continued to learn about utilizing the New ECACC Roadmap to help ECACC realize its full potential.
From April 1-4, 2007, ECACC held its annual Washington, DC meeting that provided participants and Washington decision-makers the opportunity to exchange information on current transatlantic business topics and discuss ways to strengthen the economic relationship.
The program included:
- meetings with US administration officials and Congressional staffers
- briefing sessions in the US Chamber of Commerce
- reception at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace
- AmCham Workshop on 'Effective Lobbying' led by Vin Weber, one of Washington's "super lobbyists"
- joint breakfast panel on “Energy Technology, Energy & Climate Change” with the European-American Business Council
From February 25-27, 2007, AmCham EU held a briefing session for ECACC members to explore current European Union policy issues, and discuss ways in which the AmCham network in Europe can collaborate on policy and lobbying activities.
The EU briefing for AmChams included:
- presentations by AmChams about important policy issues
- updates on policy issues from industry representatives
- best practices session
From Nov. 5-7, 2006, ECACC held its annual fall meeting in cooperation with AmCham Spain in Barcelona. The meeting provided participants the opportunity to exchange best practices and develop a business agenda for the council.
